Someone sent me this picture today. Note there's a LongEZ with a yellow cover on it parked in the grass. The caption reads "The west end of the Bloomsburg Airport runway became an island yesterday in the flood-swollen waters of the Susquehanna River. Several planes and vehicles occupied the high spot yesterday as the owners waited for the high water to crest."

I first saw this photo about a week ago on the Internet, but had no idea it was from Bloomsburg. The color of the water looked familiar, much like my whole neighborhood looked in June, 1972. I guess the native Americans were knew what they were doing when they named it the 'Susquehanna', which means 'muddy river.' I hope that everyone is surviving the wet weather on the east coast. I've been keeping pretty busy out here in Colorado and have been to the west coast twice since our Seattle trip, once to Oregon and a trip to California. Both times the weather was nearly perfect, except a little turbulence enroute, and I was flying commercial.

I still see no response from Homer. I hope that doesn't mean that he's been flooded or suffered extensive hurricane damage in Florida. I can't believe they've been hit nearly every week or two with a new storm. I'm sure this must be some kind of record even for hurricane-prone Florida.
